Ford Model T Radiator Cap
Ford Motor Company produced the Model T automobile from 1908 to 1927. Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company, envisioned an automobile that was affordable to middle class America. While he did not invent the assembly line, his development of the technique allowed him to efficiently mass produce the vehicles, allowing him to control the cost of production while at the same time providing a large supply of affordable automobiles.
By the time that production was ceased on May 26, 1927, over 15 million Model T’s were manufactured. The assembly line allowed Ford to complete a vehicle every three minutes, and by 1914, Ford had produced more cars that all other automobile manufacturers combined.
The significance of the Ford Motor Company Model T automobile is that it served as one of the primary symbols of America’s age of modernization.
